Winter Scare-Away Carnival in Mohács
Busójárás takes place every year in February – March, during the carnival season. It is the most famous traditional festival for welcoming spring in Mohács.
The festival has centuries-old history and its focus is on the preservation of traditions with its colourful masquerades, loud music and special ceremonies. The busó, who are the main characters of the festival, appear in fur coats, old costumes and masks on their faces. You can learn more about its history on our blog.
During this program you will explore Mohács and the offered activites with your professional guide. You will watch the Busó procession and the lighting of the bonfire, where they „ward off winter”. In between you will have free time to explore what the local handicraft and food vendors offer.
